Check it out, tell me what you think. Keep in mind, it's still under construction ... enjoy!

So how the hell is everyone? Things have pretty much settled down here. Chris' graduation and grad party is over and done with. He'll be moving into his dorm room on the 18th. His room mate is from Wisconsin.

I'm working on starting on my 'myspace'. I should hopefully have it up by the end of the month ... hopefully.

Well, hope everyone has a nice weekend ... catch up later ...

Sianna was supposed to audition for snare, for the drumline, today but was told that she needed to memorize the music first. So, she will be auditioning next week instead.

The marching band program really sucks this year. I say it's because of the retirement of Mr. Nakasone earlier this year. Sianna told me last night that there are only 78 students in marching band this season. That's a huge drop from 260. On top of that, another band director dropped out as well. I told Sianna she really needed to think about what she wants to do. It's either all 4 years or else she needs to get involved with sports and student government. She'll still stay in concert band, but for marching it's all or nothing.

I finally got a day off today from work. I've been working straight for over a week. I took the weekend off because of my pastry orders for Father's Day. I'll be making a whole lot more making pies and pastries than working the whole weekend at the job.

I am finally taking a vacation and it will be in October. October 11-25 to be exact. I will be heading out to New York (Long Island) first to visit, then it's off to the Big Island for some hiking. I can't wait. It's been way too long since I had a real vacation. I just bought my tickets the other day and I'm finalizing my itinerary.

Grad party plans are coming along. The mobile disco, slide show, and most of the food are already paid for. The favors, centerpieces, and card box will be taken care of by Chris' dad's family. Out of all the people invited, there was only 1 R.S.V.P. regret response. The original invitation list was at 200 people and I believe another 30 was added to it ... gee, thanks Chris ... no more people already! I'll be taking Chris clothes shopping next week to get his outfit for the party ... as well as mine ... I have no idea what I'll be wearing.

Anyway, it's late ... have a nice week!

Graduation was AWESOME!

Ok, so Chris and I had a side bet going on ... he bet that I would cry and I bet that Sianna was the one that was going to do all the crying ... arent we evil? Anyway, I won THAT bet.

After the ceremony, the graduates were whisked off to the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park in Kapolei for Project Graduation. The park was closed down and reopened exclusively for the graduates to enjoy all night. I believe they got there around 10ish and left the park at around 6:30am. Besides riding the rides in the water park, they all got manicures and their hair done by Paul Brown Studios. Chris came home with his nails done in plaid ... lol. Each participant received a backpack filled with all kinds of goodies. They all got a towel, shorts, shirt - each, along with the backpack, embroidered with 'class of 2005' on them. They also got VIP passes to the park, and several gift certificates from various sponsors.

Project Graduation is a program that started in the late 80's that promotes a drug and alcohol free environment. Each year since, each graduating class has been whisked off to various secret locations to enjoy their last night with their friends. Throughout the year the committee stages different fundraisers to help keep the costs down to make it affordable for the students. Some of the fundraisers included McNite - one Wednesday a quarter McDonalds donates a portion of their sales to the event. Pizza Hut does the same thing for them. From what I learned earlier is that students who signed up to work at the State Fair got $10 towards their account for PG. Since Chris worked all for years, he got a $40 refund a few months ago. So, after all the deductions, I ended up paying $30 for PG. I think it was estimated at around $120 per student. Because Chris signed up for it at the beginning of the year, he got a discount. The longer you waited to sign up, the more it was going to cost you. I think they added $5 per week up until it reached $90.

Chris also had his last high school function last night ... Band Banquet. Now he's bumming around the house. I told our boss to schedule him more at work ... keep him outta my hair ... lol!

Sianna has another week of school and then she officially becomes a Freshman. She gets a two week break before she starts summer school and marching band practices. She is so excited to start school. No more uniforms for one thing.

Anyway, I am so glad that graduation is over. Now I can sit back and relax, catch up on some sleep for a good month before I start stressing again for Chris' grad party in July.

Well I hope you guys have a great week!

Chris had Senior's last day this past Friday and I have been a wreck all week. I'm too emotional ... it's a curse ... I've been crying all week because my first born is about to graduate. Any song I hear on the radio or on a CD that will be in his slide show I break out into tears. Chris is like wtf when he sees me like that. Boys don't understand. I keep telling him wait until he has a daughter, then maybe he'll get an idea of what I'm going through now. I'm already prepared though. I just bought me a whole bunch of waterproof makeup for that day ... lol.

A few months ago I started making purple satin ribbon leis and I'm starting on the candy/condom leis as we speak. Condoms you say? Yeah, well Chris has a sense of humor, as well as his friends, so I'm alternating candy with the condoms in the leis for his male friends. I also got a cute ducky beach tube that I'm going to have our co-workers sign for him. A few of them will be off that night and are coming with me to the graduation ... I think they want to see me crying my ass off ... bastards.

Chris got a few letters from UH's Music Dept. for drumline practices and audition date(s). He's going to audition for quints. He has a little disadvantage because he's never played quints, only quads. PC is one of two or three schools that doesn't have them but it's not that much of a difference to play them either. He's considering auditioning for snare as well. He gets a tuition waiver if he's in both marching band and concert band ... I think the waiver is 1/3 off the tuition.

I haven't been feeling well and I had to take the whole day off today because I was feeling a relapse of last weeks flu. People been coming in to work with strep and pink eye and it's making me paranoid. I woke up this morning very congested and I just called in sick right away. I swear to God, if I get sick on graduation day I'm gonna kill someone. What gets me is that working in a restaurant, you SEND people home sick like that, not keep them and have them breathe all over shit ... come on now. Anyway, it feels REAL good being home today. I have the whole place to myself. Chris just left to practice on a set of quints the high school finally decided to get, Sianna is at her band practice at the high school, and Jonathan is off with his dad for his weekend visit. Peace and quiet ... just how I like it.

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend ... have a great week as well!

Ok then ... let's try this again ...

It's been a hectic last two weeks. Someone dear to me passed away earlier this month and I wrote about it but Blogger didn't want to post it ... them bastards!

His name was Steven. Steven was my first boyfriend. We've known each other since the third grade. He made a lot of trouble for me and was a huge pain in my ass. Later that year my parents divorced and I switched schools. I still kept in touch with my friends and was invited to a birthday party in the 7th grade. Steven was there ... and boy did he look hot! We got reacquainted and by the end of the night had swapped phone numbers. We were together ever since.

Steven was always active with sports. He played football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and even golf. It wasn't until early Sophomore year that he found out he had a heart murmur. He had to eliminate some of the sports he loved to play and I remember clearly that it upset him very much.

Steven and I were together all throughout high school except for the three times we broke up. It only took like a week to get back together. Being in two different schools was convenient I guess ... we had space ... and I guess that's why we worked.

The biggest thing I remembered about Steven was the fact that he was a true romantic. Even when we hooked up for a bit during his last visit during the holidays. My best memory of him happened our Senior year. We were supposed to go to my Senior Prom but three days before I got bronchitis and we didn't make it there. Steven came over, in his tuxedo even, and took care of me the whole night. He made me chicken noodle soup that we ate for dinner. He even dressed the dinner table for the occasion. Even got me to wear my gown. He made a tape of some songs that we later danced to and brought over some movies to watch and jiffy popcorn.

We were supposed to go off to college together. We both got a full ride to Washington State, pre med. At the last minute I decided not to go and I traveled instead. Well, needless to say we broke up for good but still were best of friends. He went off and became an orthopedic surgeon, got engaged twice, but never married nor had children ... and I did my thing. There was a couple of times we got together during his trips home, but nothing came of it ... the timing was just off.

On Thursday, May 5 I got a phone call that Steven passed away two days earlier. I got a sitter for J and I headed straight for his parents. Mom invited me to go to Maui with them for a memorial there in her home town ... she's from Hana. The funeral was on May 12. I had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting his two ex fiances. I see how his mom did not approve and we'll just leave it at that. I saw friends I have not seen in almost 20 years. We all went out and shared our memories we had of Steven. Mom asked me to fly out to California with her to help her take care of his estate. I have too much going on here at home but I told her that I would help her any way I could when she got back. The last time I talked to Steven, he said he wanted to come back home and open a practice here in Hawaii. He was looking at up to two years down the line to come back.

Steven was my best friend. I am going to miss him a whole lot.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!! I lost my post!!

Wednesday, May 04, 2005

I went to pick up my paycheck and found out that I needed to take my vacation or I'll lose it. I'll still get my pay, I just won't get to take time off. So, I have until the end of July to do just that. It's too late to request the end of this month because the schedules are out so I'm thinking probably around the time Chris has his grad party. Now I just need to figure out where to go and what to do.

A handful of friends asked me a couple of weeks ago to go to Vegas with them. They're going at the end of next month. I dunno ... I don't like Vegas in the summer. Back in July '03 when I went to my high school reunion I almost wound up in the emergency room because of heat exhaustion ... and that still happen with all the water I usually drink.

Then I got the offer to stay at Turtle Bay Hilton with some co-workers. I really don't want to do that. If I'm going to stay in Hawaii, I'd rather go to one of the neighbor islands. I was thinking I'd might fly over to the Big Island and go hiking. I've always wanted to stay at one of the B&B's at the Volcano National Park. I dunno ... we'll see what happens.

My computer has been giving me some problems lately and I'm getting really pissed off. For one all of a sudden I keep getting all these ad pop ups and when I did a scan I find out that I caught some stuff. 14 to be exact. Only two were like a high concern but I was able to get rid of it. I have 9 remaining that won't let me delete. They're all adware stuff that I found out will attach itself to a file and that's why I'm having a hard time getting rid of it. It's like they need each other to run properly all the while screwing me over. I'm just waiting on a friend tosend me some stuff I can DL from AOL to help get rid of them.

It's been warm and sticky the last couple of days and the trades are supposed to be back by tomorrow night, thank goodness. I have a feeling it's gonna be a long and very humid summer which I don't look forward to.

Chris got off of training at work and he likes the job so much that he quit Hollister and MC&A. I like having Chris at work with me. It's funny because he has to call me by my name instead of mom, and sometimes I catch the other co-workers telling him to seat in his mom's section and stuff like that. Once he starts school at UH though he'll probably have to transfer to the Ala Moana store. It'll be closer since he plans to dorm there.

Well ... enjoy the rest of what's left of the week, and have a great weekend when it gets here!

I am so exhausted ...

Thursday, April 21, 2005

Ok, so as I was chillin' with my favorite red head watching 'Finding Nemo', I get a knock at the door. It was a friend of my ex husband serving me with court papers. So now I'm thinking what the fuck now? As I read the papers I look at the top and it says that it's a motion and declaration to modify child support. First of all, this man has not paid his child support since June 2000. I take that back. I hired a private agency almost two years ago and they've managed to collect from him about $300 since. That's not even a full months support. I find this hilarious because he's asking the court to decrease his obligation if not suspend it altogether. How do you decrease something you're not even paying? Besides why all of this now when he could have done this 5 years ago? He's a moron and I say he needs to get off whatever his drug of choice is and get his act together. Now that Chris is 18, this is a waste of time ... he's not obligated anymore. He is, however, still obligated to back support ... Totaling somewhere near $20,000. I hate the enforcement system here. It's so damn corrupt and I just read that they're going to be audited soon. Anyway, if he (Chris' dad) wants to be stupid I can do a lot of damage. Don't mess with me.

Graduation ceremony starts at 5pm, not 3pm.

(sigh) toilet training ... I think I'm putting that off for another month. He likes being on the throne but his timing is off. He'll do his business in his diapers then ask to go on the toilet. He's pretty much dry throughout the night so I know he's ready.

I want to start looking for a preschool to send J to. He's getting bored with mom, even with all the things we do everyday. He knows his numbers up to 20, he knows half of the alphabet and can point them out on my keyboard, he knows his body parts, even the names of most commonly used muscle parts like the biceps, triceps, hamstring and quads for example. He even knows his face parts in three different languages ... Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian. I taught him a Korean lullaby a few months ago and it's so cute hearing him sing it to me at night. In order for him to sing it, I have to be holding him in a certain way like I used to when he was a baby.

Anyway, I'm off to do stuff ... enjoy the rest of the week!

Tuesday, April 19, 2005

Chris got the official letter last week ... he's graduating with honors. Cumme laude ... could have been magna cumme laude if he didn't take AP English ... that class totally dropped his GPA. By right he shouldn't have had that class in the first place. The teacher denied his waver because I guess Chris wrote a less than desirable essay but the crafty little bugger forged my name on something that got him into the class ... shame on me for not knowing all of this beforehand, eh?

May 28 is the big day ... graduation. It will be held at the Aloha Stadium and I think it starts at 3pm ... I hafta double check. I'm not sure what kind of lei I'll be getting him yet. I remember my graduation. I had leis that filled the whole back seat and passenger seat of my car. I also scored 4 champagne bottles, 2 wine bottles, Bacardi 151, and a total of 5 dozen long stem roses. BTW with the alcohol ... back then the drinking age was 18. After the ceremony, the graduates are being whisked off to an undisclosed location to celebrate all night. It's a program called Project Graduation. It's a safe no drugs no alcohol event that started sometime in the late 80's. I wish we had that when I graduated in '83. Several secret locations in the past were all night boat cruises, grand ballrooms with games, dancing, food, stuff like that, and I think one year they went to D&B. At the end of the night, the kids are driven back to the high school where they are served breakfast and then picked up by their parents at about 9am.

So, I was just informed today that I will be able to go to Senior Prom on May 7. Since Chris is on the Prom Court, the parents are invited to attend as well. We went to order his tuxedo and he's decided to wear white. A very nice tuxedo if I may say. His date is wearing a golden brown, almost like a dark gold, gown. The bouquet I ordered (they were not taking anymore french bouquets orders) is an arm bouquet with a dozen salmon colored roses and babies breath. He'll be wearing a maili lei. The King and Queen will be announced that night.

Don't even ask about the toilet training ...

How was everyone's Easter? Mine was great. I pulled a 12 hour shift at work, which I didn't mind since I didn't have the kids most of the weekend. I'd might as well make some moolah don't ya think?

So, I finally got some shopping out of the way for my good friend's baby shower that I am throwing with a coworker on Monday. We got the favors and decorations out of the way. I designed a cake that I really wanted to make, but I'm afraid I won't have the time to make it ... even if I simplified it by going all buttercream instead of rolled fondant like I originally planned. If I end up ordering a cake, I'll have time to make her a diaper cake instead.

I think I've finally found a video guy to make Chris' slide show for his graduation party inJuly. He's really reasonable - $300 for everything - up to 100 pictures, all the equipment necessary and he even does the presentation ... and a few other additions. So anyone out there reading this that will be attending if you have a favorite picture of yourself with him please contact me asap.

Toilet training begins ... wish me luck ...

Have a great week!

Oh yeah ... the Class of 2005 once AGAIN won the 28th Annual PCHS Songfest! Go Seniors! Chris did a fantastic job this year as Chairperson again ... two for two ... not bad at all. This time he's bringing that damned trophy home since he won't have his name on it ... which I still protest.

Chris just got home with the trophy and I got the chance to actually look at it ... it turns out to be the original trophy from when the Songfest first started in 1978. My class, 1983, won the trophy our Junior year ... we were robbed Senior year when the Sophomores won it. Tonight the Seniors sang 'I sing The Body Electric', 'Think Of Me', and 'One Day More' (from Les Miserables).

As Chris leaves the high school, his sister Sianna will entering her Freshman year in July and she intends to tryout for Songfest Chairperson ... I guess she goes before the class council and explains why she wants to become Chairperson ... she plans to hint to them that her brother won the prized trophy for his class not one, but two years in a row, and she'll mention that he'll help them out if she wins ... she plays hardball.

As of yesterday, I can now bench 35 lbs. Nowhere close to the 170 i used to bench back in 1990 ... I don't plan to let it get that far ... back then it was for competition purpose. Now days it's just for strength and tone. My goal is 60 and that's it. I go to the gym and a guy I used to date is my trainer (remember JT?). At home I work out to Cathe Friedrich Slow and Heavy series and to a couple of her step aerobic workouts. My diet is another story ... I've been keeping what I eat in a daily journal and I've noticed a pattern. Chocolate is my nemesis. I've been very emotional lately ... like the past month maybe ... and I've been popping the delectable suckers like it's going out of fashion. I think I gained almost 5 lbs because of my stress. I don't care because I don't go by the scale ... what matters is how I look ... even with the weight gain I still wear the same size I have been since I lost all that weight 6 months ago and it doesn't even feel like it's gotten tight or anything.

Anyway ... more on that later ... take care!

Monday, February 28, 2005

It looks like Chris will be heading to UH Manoa this Fall Semester. His Major is Korean Language but he'll also be studying Japanese which means to get his degree he'll have to study abroad for a semester for each language ... one semester his Junior year, the other his Senior year. I see a couple of family trips coming on.

I guess Sianna was invited to go to Junior Prom. That's sad. For the guy I mean. Who the heck invites an 8th grader to Junior Prom? They're great friends and all ... but still it's kinda weird. Then again there might not even be a Junior Prom because not enough people registered for it. They need at least another 140 people to sign up.

Songfest is coming up ... on the 12th to be exact. Once again Chris is Chairperson and he is looking for his second straight win. Ok ... when I was in highschool, the Chairperson of the class that won got their name on the trophy ... understandable. Not lately which pisses me off. When Chris was informed that he wasn't going to get his name on the trophy last year I threw a fit (you would think he would). The class President's name went on the trophy. Can someone please explain this one to me? They offered to let him take the trophy home for a few weeks, but he didn't ... they should have asked me ... I would have grabbed that sucker and ran to the car. When they win this year he's taking it home.

Well, I'm off ... have a great week!

Sunday, February 20, 2005

Purple? What's wrong with purple?? Chris will be wearing that color at his graduation on May 28th ... the guys wear purple and the girls wear white ... like I did in '83.

The Great Aloha Run begins in 8 hours ... 8 miles starting from Aloha Tower and ends at the Aloha Stadium. I'll be there and my goal is 1 hour and 35 minutes. Wish me luck!

So I just bought me a new toy the other day ... a Sony W1 digital camera. Originally I wanted the T1 but the W1 had better ratings and everyone I talked to said it was better. I'm currently shopping for a mini dvd camcorder and I'm torn between two models ... the Sony DVD 201 and the Sony mini DV DCR-HC42. Let me know whatcha think.

Well ... I'm off to bed ... gotta be up in 4 hours ... have a great week!

Friday, February 04, 2005

Ack ... the weather has been sucky for the past three days. I'm freezing my ass off and it's only 72 degrees. Nothing but rain ... they just posted a flash flood warning for the Big Island.

Once AGAIN we're watching Harry Potter and it's starting to get on my nerve.

So last night we ended up at Genki Sushi for dinner. I'd rather have gone to Kunio but it's Chris' choice ... besides, Kunio was packed. And I was so looking forward to their Misoyaki Butterfish.

Anyway ... have a great weekend!

Happy Belated Sianna!

Happy Birthday Chris! You're an adult now! God, I feel old.

Chris is officially an adult. I took the night off to take him and a few of his friends to dinner after he gets out of prom bash rehearsals. Sianna's birthday was two days ago, she's 14. We had a little party for her this past Saturday and I'm still pissed about that damned Ouija board someone bought her as a gift. The fooker is still in the trunk of my car.

First of all, I just wanted to apologize for all the remarks I made about the Harry Potter movies. Heh ... someone bought Chris, as a Christmas gift, the box series of all three movies and I had no choice but to watch them all because of a certain lil red head who has to watch every single one of the movies twice a day everyday. It grew on me and I actually liked them. Who knew.

Vacation is coming up I'm deciding where I want to go. The original plan was to go to Australia with two of my good friends, but because of conflicting schedules, there was no way of getting 10 days off all together. We're looking at Vancouver and skiing at Whistler sometime in March or heading out to Vegas. These bitches need to make up their minds or I'll just go somewhere on my own. Now that Chris works for a travel agency, who books tours with Norwegian Cruises, I just might take that cruise to Alaska that I've always wanted to take.

Chris graduates from highschool on May 28. I'm already hustling for his grad party that will be on July 16. I got the location, the mobile disco/live band, and half the food ordered. I'm wanting to work on a slide show and I need help so if anyone can be of assistance, PLEASE contact me!!

Anyway, I'm off ... gotta pick up the cake and do some errands ... laters!
